Shannon’s pain worsend last night. The pain is not just in her right collar bone area, but is also radiating to her neck. Injectable anti-inflammatory meds are working best so far.
Shannon has been holding off on eating anything until we find out if surgery can occur today. We’ve been told probably Monday at earliest but she’s hopeful that they can squeeze her in.
We finally saw an ENT(Ear Nose and Throat) Resident at 11am today. He took her history and assessed her. He said the procedure to remove a lymph node in the neck only takes an hour or so, maybe 2 hours if it’s really embedded under a lot of muscle tissue.
He said he was going to discuss her case with the rest of the ENT team and get back to us this afternoon. He also said surgery would probably not occur until Monday.
Shannon went for a walk around the unit a few times after the ENT Resident left. She’s sleeping now.

ENT Resident came back. Shannon is on the surgical schedule for Monday morning around 10am. There’s one case before her so that time is an estimate.
May the Lord continue to comfort and strengthen you Shannon! He got you and you got this!!🙏🏾💙🙏🏾
