The first IV Chemotherapy medication officially began around 11:30pm. They gave her 3 different premeds to prevent nausea including one to protect her bladder. In general, most medications or their metabolites are eventually excreted thru the urine and some of the chemotherapy meds can irritate the lining of the bladder.
The nurses have been really professional and kind. They’re required to have another RN, who is also chemo-certified, verify the chemo drug being hung. This prevents mistakes and keeps patients safer….right patient, right drug, right dose, etc etc.
The nurses are impressing me so far and she’s in good hands.
Shannon is asleep for now. Good night.
Thank you son. Give her a big hug for me. I love you guysππππππ
Praying for Shannonβs strength and healing. God had this family. I love you so much.
