Shannon had lab work and a visit with NP Manila. We did her visit a day early (Wed instead of Thur) because she had an IT Chemo scheduled for Thursday. Her hemoglobin was right at the lower limit of 7, so they ordered a unit of blood for her. She received 1 unit of blood in the infusion suite. We were in a different area of the suite this time. We had no idea how big it was. There’s about 80 individual infusion rooms. They see around 100 patient’s per day for chemotherapy and/or blood product transfusions. Shannon had a new nurses there today, Tania. She was really good just like all the others at the infusion suite. We’ve been pretty lucky with the nurses that Shannon gets. No issues with her transfusion today.

Shannon received Intrathecal chemo as an outpatient in Interventional Radiology at the main hospital, Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. Everything went good except that she had to wait for a few hours on the procedure. The hospital pharmacy took forever to mix up her chemo and send it down to IR. All went well though, no issues with the procedure. Dr. Fahrtash was her doctor.

Shannon was feeling really tired and achy all day. Otherwise, no issues.
